Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) 2026: Complete Guide

Everything you need to know about TDAC in 2026: who needs it, step-by-step instructions, official website, what to do if you forgot. Based on official Thai immigration sources.

🛂 Mandatory since May 1, 2025 ⚡ Takes 3–5 minutes 💰 Completely free ⏱ Up to 72 hours before arrival

What is the TDAC?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a mandatory online pre-registration system that replaced the paper TM6 arrival card on May 1, 2025. All foreign nationals must complete it before entering Thailand — by air, land, or sea.

The TDAC is not a visa. It does not grant entry permission or extend your permitted length of stay. It is simply the digital equivalent of the paper immigration card previously distributed on flights.

Official website: tdac.immigration.go.th — the only legitimate portal. Submission is completely free. Any site charging a fee is fraudulent.

Who Needs to Complete the TDAC?

All foreign nationals entering Thailand, including:

  • Tourists on visa-exempt entry
  • Holders of tourist visas or Visa on Arrival
  • Long-term visa holders (retirement, marriage, education, business)
  • Returning expats and residents
  • Children and infants (each person needs an individual TDAC)

Who is Exempt

  • Thai nationals
  • Aircraft crew members
  • Transit passengers who do not pass through immigration

  1. 1
Open the official website tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours of your arrival. Submissions open up to 3 days before your trip.

  5. 5
Review all information and click «Submit». The entire process takes 3–5 minutes with your passport handy.

Forgot to Fill It Before Your Flight?

💡 Don't panic: kiosks and Wi-Fi are available at Thai airports so you can complete the TDAC on arrival. However, this will significantly slow down your immigration processing. At Don Mueang (DMK) there are fewer kiosks — allow 30–45 extra minutes. At Suvarnabhumi (BKK) there are more terminals.

Filling it on your phone in the queue is faster than using a kiosk. Save the official link in advance: tdac.immigration.go.th

Scam Warning

⚠️ TDAC is a completely free service. Thailand's Immigration Bureau has warned about hundreds of fake websites mimicking the official portal and charging fees. Only use tdac.immigration.go.th. If any site asks for payment — close it immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the TDAC the same as a visa?

No. The TDAC is not a visa, does not permit entry, and does not extend your stay. It's the digital replacement for the paper TM6 card that was discontinued in 2022.

Do I need a new TDAC for each entry?

Yes. Each TDAC is valid for a single entry only. You must complete a new one every time you enter Thailand.

Can one person fill out TDAC for the whole family?

No. Every person, including children and infants, needs their own TDAC. You can complete all of them through one account by adding each family member as a separate trip.

How early can I complete it?

No earlier than 72 hours (3 days) before your scheduled arrival. Forms submitted earlier than 72 hours in advance are not valid.

Is TDAC required for land border crossings?

Yes. TDAC is mandatory for all entry points — airports, seaports, and land border crossings.
